Since Daddy had to work on Father's Day Sunday (after our CA trip) I surprised him before work with some gifts. We got him some new shorts and shirts. He was totally surprised when he walked out to say good morning to Garrett and found everything laid out on the living room floor. Garrett gave him the card so that they could read it together. I think he kinda likes being a dad!! They are so cute together.
Since last October I cut my work hours to 2 days a week on Mondays and Tuesdays. This week though I worked 3 days since we had the first round of our annual audit. Working that extra day sure made it seem like a long week. I think I am getting very spoiled! Then on Thursday I had to get some testing done that my doctor requested. When I was trying to get pregnant with Garrett I had a difficult time and am finding it to be the same again. We want to try for another baby so he wanted to try to see what's going on. I had to get both an ultrasound and a pelvic MRI done. I now just have to wait for him to call me with my results. With that being said, Thursday seemed like a very long day.
On Friday Garrett and I went to the Arizona Museum of Youth. They have a special area for young kids called Artville. It was very cool. It was a huge room that was divided into smaller rooms that the kids can go in and out of. There was a little kitchen, a living room, an art room and lots more. I don't' know if Garrett had more fun playing or if I had more fun watching him play and interact with all the kids. He went from room to room playing with all of the stuff. He especially liked the room with the kitchen. He would sit at the table and play with all the 'food'. I noticed that he kept putting his fingers in his mouth and am not sure if it is him teething or more of a comfort thing since he was in an unfamiliar setting. I'll have to see if he continues to do it. He upset a couple of little girls that were building with blocks since he can't help but go and knock those types of things down. He does the same thing all the time at home. As soon as he sees us playing with his blocks and making some sort of tower he has to run over and knock it all down. He's so silly. Then once we were done in the play area we went to walk around the rest of the museum. He went up and down the little slide and would just walk around checking out all the neat exhibits. There was one big monster or bug looking thing and Garrett thought that it was a spider so he would walk by and put his hands up as if he was doing 'itsy bitsy spider' like we do at home. After spending a couple hours there we met Daddy for lunch since he was off for the rest of the day. We tried to walk around outside after lunch but it was way too hot! The AZ summer has definitely started!
On Saturday Daddy had the day off so we did some stuff around the house and then met our friends Heather and Bryan and little Brody for dinner. Heather is due any day now with baby #2. It was really nice to get together and for Brody and Garrett to see each other.
Today Garrett and I went to Costco in the morning and then to the Splash Pad. Since it is so hot out its nice to have somewhere to take him that allows him to be outside and still stay cool. He had fun running in and out of the shooting water. Then later on after his nap we played with Play-Doh for the first time. He didn't try to eat it as much as I thought he would, but I think he was waiting more for my reaction when he would try to put some in his mouth. I notice that he has been doing that more and more. He will do something that he isn't suppose to do and look at me waiting to see what I'll do - isn't he too young for that??? We had a fun day. Well, it's time for bed and a start of a new week.
