Today we went to our Little Gym class. It was Garretts's third class, but the first time with both Mommy and Daddy. He was in a pretty poopy mood when we got there and didn't want to do any of the activities. He would look at the teacher and start crying to Daddy. Daddy has to carry him around the mat during our running/jumping activity. oh brother! Once the teacher brought out the hula hoops he got pretty excited and left Daddy's arms to join in on the fun. I can tell that he is getting more and more comfortable climbing up and down all of the stuff they have. He did his somersaults, balancing beam, and bar hang today. It's just fun to watch him run around and socialize with all the little kids. Then the teacher brought out the balls for them to play with and did bubbles. Garrett would try to pop the bubbles with his mouth! He would lay flat on the floor and put his mouth over them - yuck! What would make him want to do that? None of the other kids were trying to eat the bubbles! So silly. After the class was over, he was very excited to get a Snoopy stamp on his hands. He kept showing us his hands for the rest of the day.
Once the class was over we went to Costco, Arby's and Sprouts so that I could get some food for our camping trip this weekend. Then when we got home we all took a little nap. After nap time we went out and put up our tent for the first time in the back yard. We wanted to make sure we had everything and knew how to set it up before leaving. Jeff and the girls came over for a little bit while he helped us waterproof the tent. All the kids were playing in the little pool and sprinklers.
Later that night, while relaxing in the living room, Garrett got a huge burst of energy and starting doing all of these crazy gymnastic moves for us! He would get on all fours and kick out his legs one at a time - I've never seen that one before! Then he would do his 'old man walk' and just fall forward onto the ground. Then he would try to climb up on Daddy and try to jump off of him! Those jumps would have hurt if Daddy wasn't holding on to him! I can see now that our classes at The Little Gym are paying off - hopefully its a good thing!
